Bogotá is the high-altitude and sprawling capital of Colombia. La Candelaria, its cobblestone center, features colonial-era monuments such as the neoclassical Teatro Colón performance hall and the 17th-century Church of San Francisco. It is also home to popular museums, including the Botero Museum, which displays the art of Fernando Botero, and the Gold Museum, which displays pre-Columbian gold pieces.

You won’t need much time in Bogotá to discover that the capital of Colombia is made of contrasts. In a space of just a few blocks, the colonial past that characterizes the historic center and the modernity of large buildings such as those that are part of the international center and the rest of the city come together.

Many of these parks are the scene of important international events that reveal the most modern face of Bogotá, such as the Park Festivals, which bring together thousands of spectators with rock, hip-hop, jazz, salsa, Colombian music and all kinds of rhythms. Likewise, the important Estéreo Picnic Festival has been held for some years in the capital, which brings together great figures from the music scene.
